Blackbeard's Cruises 2008 (August 23 - 29, 2008)

This year's Blackbeards trip was very reminiscent of the trip in 2005. With hurricane weather threatening the region, we couldn't have timed our trip any better. We arrived just after tropical storm Faye rolled through the area, and finished just before Hurricane Gustav stuck ... reminiscent of 2005 when we snuck in between hurricanes (we landed the day after Hurricane Katrina hit landfall).

Despite the turbulent weather the week before, the waters were calm and visibility was decent. This was my 6th trip aboard Blackbeards, and it has never disappointed! A week in the sun with great diving and good friends can never be beat. The conditions did not make it amenable to head up to Tiger Beach as we had wanted to originally do, but nonetheless, we cruised to Bimini and the Gingerbread Grounds for some fantastic diving.
